Biking in the Himalayas isn't an easy task. Meanwhile participating in the Tour of the Dragon (167 mi or 268 km) and the Dragon Fury Race (37 mi or 60 km) is a real challenge, with steep lifts up the hills and crazy downhills. The Tour of the Dragon starts in Jakar (Bumthang Valley) and the Dragon Fury Race begins in Messina. Both of them end in the capital of Thimphu. The competitions are held in the first days of September.

Everyone can participate in each race, but registration and a fee are required. Moreover, there are special awards for the youngest and the oldest participants, who complete the whole challenge. However, if you don't receive the award, it will still be a memorable experience.

The events were canceled for 2020 and postponed to 2021. Thereafter, the organizers plan on holding the races once in every two years.
