Both events are one-day professional bicycle road races where you can see the world cycling elite. The competitions are circuit based, which means riders start and finish at the same place. The routes cover around 200 km, 17 laps, with more than 12 km per lap.

The Quebec City race, which usually begins a few days earlier, is mostly concentrated in Old Town. The Montreal race starts at Avenue du Parc and includes three climbs around Mount Royal.
