Bisbee Fishing Tournaments Featured in
Baja California Sur is famous for its marlins, swordfish, tuna, dorado, and other fish species. For that reason, this place has become a playground for three major fishing tournaments. Bisbee's East Cape Offshore takes place in August in Buenavista. Two other competitions, Bisbee's Los Cabos Offshore and Bisbee's Black & Blue, are held in October, both in Cabo San Lucas.
Bisbee's East Cape Offshore (August 3–7, 2021)
East Cape Offshore is the most expensive tournament in the region, as the prizes can hit $600,000. Here teams compete for the heaviest marlin, dorado, and tuna. The action takes place at Buena Vista Resort.
Bisbee's Los Cabos Offshore (October 14–17, 2021)
Los Cabos Offshore Charity Tournament is the most recent Bisbee competition, which started only in 2002. The tournament features more than 769 anglers and 128 teams. This event is more relaxed and traditional than the Bisbee's Black and Blue that follows later in October.
Bisbee's Black and Blue (October 19–23, 2021)
The Black & Blue Marlin Tournament is also an occasion that unites the Cabo community. The affair enrolls about 150 teams. The fish caught by the participants is measured in Puerto Paraiso Entertainment Plaza. So anyone can come to view this spectacle. Also, lots of people gather at Cabo San Lucas Marina to feast on street food.
Bisbee's fishing tournament tradition dates back to 1981. Participants love this thrilling event for a rare opportunity to win serious money. But even if you do not fish, these contests are still worth seeing.
