Rainy season runs from December to March, and is also known as summer time in Madagascar. In addition to heavy rains, these months are the hottest ones. Whereas northern and eastern territories are most affected by the rains, central Madagascar, its south and west are much drier and cooler. This time is considered to be inconvenient for tourism as many areas are inaccessible due to the tropical storms. On the other hand, warm temperatures are favorable for a seaside holiday.
