Lúcuma also named eggfruit lacks smooth texture, yet this is compensated by its incredible taste often compared to caramel, sweet potato, or cooked squash. The cooked fruit turns into a delicious paste and is widely used in various desserts ranging from ice cream to yogurts, cakes, and meringue. One could also consume it raw, though this is not so common. Lúcuma is in season from June to November.
