Flightseeing in Greenland 2025
There's no better way to experience the size and the magnificence of Greenland
Best time: May–September
Greenland is a huge island country with very few roads. Much of the transportation here is either in the water or the air. So, taking a flightseeing tour is often the best way to not only to see the maximum amount of the country's wilderness often hardly accessible by other modes of transport but also to feel the scale of this magnificent landscape. You'll see that even the massive cruise ships are tiny in comparison to the icebergs floating in the sea. The lowlands, mountains, rivers, icebergs, fjords, colourful towns, whales, and herds of musk oxen sometimes look even more impressive from the air. There are two main operators of air tours: Air Zafari and Air Greenland. They offer tours in Ilulissat, Kangerlussuaq, and Kulusuk. The tours usually last from half an hour to an hour and a half. Some of them include the opportunity to take photos through the windows.
