Michael Jackson Memorial Tree 2025 in Hungary

Right next to the Kempinski Hotel, where Michael Jackson usually stayed during his tours, a Memorial Tree was decorated and devoted to the star after his death in 2009. Today it is still regularly plastered with new photos, flowers, and letters. Moreover, annually, his fans gather on Michael's birthday (August 29) in the park near the tree in order to perform some of his famous dances.

Michael Jackson Memorial Tree History

Michael Jackson visited Budapest three times, for the first time in 1994, when a promotional video for the HIStory album was shot on Heroes' Square. Two years later, the singer visited Budapest as part of his world tour. Each time he stayed in the same room at the Kempinski Hotel, from the window of which he often greeted his fans.

Michael Jackson fans renamed the tree where they spent so many hours as a Michael Jackson Memorial Tree after his death, and District V Municipality licensed it as well.
