Choose April to May and September to October as the best time to visit Vienna. In spring, the weather and room rates are moderate, and tourist season is just kicking off. Known for pricey accommodation, a warm and dry period between June and August is the most popular to explore Vienna, so be ready to stand in queues to famous attractions. Summer is the time to enjoy famous Prater rides and to party at Donauinselfest. September will introduce you to the wine culture of Vienna. In autumn, temperatures drop, and so do the room rates and tourist numbers. Viennese know how to celebrate Christmas for over a month, so late November and December offer great Christmas markets filled with tasty treats, mulled wine, handmade souvenirs, and family attractions. The classic style lovers will enjoy visiting the capital of Austria from November to February as it's the ball season.
