The Weinwandertag (Wine Hiking Day) traditionally happens on the last weekend of September.

The Wine Hiking Trail is the best way to explore Vienna's rich wine culture and enjoy the picturesque outskirts of the city. Vienna's 600 hectares of vineyards and about 170 vintners in the areas around Kahlenberg, Nussberg, Bisamberg, and Mauer, where the Danube and the proximity of the Vienna Woods provide optimal climatic conditions, are unique among major cities.

Schedule & Routes

The festival runs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and features four distinct routes. Route 1 is the Neustift - Nussdorf Trail in the 19th District. Route 2 covers the Strebersdorf - Stammersdorf Trail in the 21st District. Route 3 is the Ottakring Trail in the 16th District, and Route 4 is the Mauer Trail in the 23rd District.
