Grape harvesting in Croatia usually starts in late August and lasts till October. The grape varieties in use in Croatia can be very confusing to foreigners. The names worth to remember are Grk—a really sweet grape growing on the island of Korcula, Zlahtina—a popular variety of white grape growing on the island of Krk. There are more than 60 authentic kinds of grape in Croatia, so there's some variety to choose from.
