Rotterdam Bluegrass Festival is a three-day fun-filled festival held at Noordplein in North Rotterdam. The largest event in Europe focusing on bluegrass, Americana, rockabilly, blues, and country, gathers more than 10,000 attendees every June. The annual festival also attracts a plethora of international stars.
Held since 2009, the Rotterdam Bluegrass Festival has grown from a neighborhood event to a large gathering for music lovers from all over the world. Over the years, the lineup of the festival included bands like The Po’ Ramblin’ Boys, the Hackensaw Boys. Jerron ‘Blind Boy’ Paxton, Scott H Biram, The Reverend Peyton’s Big Damn Band. Michael Daves & Jacob Jolliff, Fog Holler, Aaron Jonah Lewis, Abe Partridge, Austin & Courtney DerryBerry, and the Wanton String Band.
The Rotterdam Bluegrass Festival is more than just music. The festival features theatre, comedy, craft workshops, a marketplace with food and beverage vendors, and children's activities. TheJamZone is a special lounge space for musicians to jam together without inhibition. The festival hosts a stage for up-and-coming musicians as well as workshops by renowned musical artists. The festival runs from noon to 11 pm Friday through Sunday.
