Louis Armstrong Park is the perfect place to spend a warm spring evening. It's a favourite spot for locals to dance and listen to some quality live music while enjoying the weather. The park hosts a live jazz concert every Thursday from late April to early June, featuring local bands.
There are also live painting sessions, art displays, and a DJ host at each event. The performance begins at 4p.m., so you can enjoy the sunset to the sounds of New Orleans jazz.
Previous performers in the park have included local and national musicians like Jon Cleary, Charmaine Neville, Treme Brass Band, Little Freddie King and others. Art work, handmade jewelry and fine crafts by local artists shouldn't be missed. Louis Armstrong Park is a short walk away from the French Quarter. The best thing about this event is that it's free of charge.
