Korean Martial Arts Demonstrations 2025 in Seoul
Watch and learn Taekwondo from the country of its birth and discover its ancient lesser known counterpart Taekkyon

Something must be amiss if you visit Korea without experiencing the famous traditional Korean martial arts forms of Taekwondo and Taekkyeon. Head on to Namsangol Hanok Village to witness expert demonstrations of taekwondo, thrilling performances, and the power of youngsters showcasing their martial arts skills. The show is truly a must-see when you visit this historic village.
Dates & Hours
The performances are usually scheduled from May through October. No performances are usually scheduled in the last week of May, June, September, and October. Each month offers a different take on a beloved sport, with some groups creating a fascinating fusion of taekwondo and K-pop, whike others choose to switch their performances up with musical-esque elements.
The shows are usually scheduled for 3 pm and take place on selected dates. The village itself operates from 09 am until 9 pm from April through October and from 9 am until 8 pm from November through March. The village is closed on Mondays. Entrance is free.
Taekwondo Experience Program
Alternatively, you can also sign up for the Taekwondo Experience Program to learn about basic theories, kicking techniques, and proper meditation. You will get to wear a dobok (the Taekwondo uniform) to get the real feel of the martial arts experience. Be sure to make a reservation before heading out. The sessions are usually scheduled on Sundays at around 3:30 pm, with the exception of July and August, when no sessions take place.
Location
Taekwondo demonstrations unfold in Namsangol Hanok Village, a recreated historical village that showcases the major periods of Korean history and its architectural style. The shows take place at Cheonugak stage. The performances usually relocate to Seoul Plaza during the monsoon season.
