Lumberjack World Championships is an annual competition and festival, running at the Lumberjack Bowl in Hayward, Wisconsin, over three days every summer. The program features a variety of timber sports, such as log rolling, boom running, speed pole climbing, chopping, throwing, and sawing. In addition, you can check out the lumberjack shop, which sells gifts and clothing, refuel at the vendor booths area, and have a refreshing drink at the beer garden.
The first edition of this historic international competition ran in 1960. Ever since, the event has grown into a significant occasion, enrolling yearly about a hundred male and female competitors from the USA, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. All in all, lumberjacks and lumberjills partake in 21 events, and the strongest and most agile contestants win over $50,000.
Lumberjack World Championships also feature a 5K (3.1 miles) run. The race starts and finishes at the Lumberjack Bowl. Runners tour the streets of Hayward on a fast and fun course. General admission to the Lumberjack World Championships is $73 for an adult and $53 for a child from 5 to 12 years old.
