Vista Viking Festival is an annual event taking place at Antique Gas & Steam Engine Museum in Vista, California, every September. The weekend festival features live music, Viking combat, reenactments, various games and competitions as well as fun activities for all ages. Action is concentrated in early Viking Encampments full of authentic daily life. The public can witness blacksmithing, bread baking, fiber arts, fine metalworking, and more.
Vista Viking Festival boasts a vibrant Viking Marketplace with dozens of vendors offering unique goods like period clothing, drinking horns, authentic swords, knives, helms, shields, jewelry, and more. Food vendors have Swedish meatballs, Norwegian cookies, sausages, Fresh Lefsa, and Krumkake. In addition, local micro and craft brewers offer a range of beverages.
Two stages of live entertainment host international and local bands, such as Highland Way. Blindfolk Monks, & Silk Button Butchers. The highlights of the fair include Viking combat with axe and sword. as well as the best Viking weapons range on the West Coast. With the help of expert instructors, visitors can partake in archery, axe, and spear throwing, horn blowing, log toss, and the Fish Fling. The fair runs from 10 am to 8 pm on Saturday and from 10 am to 6 pm on Sunday.
