The festival honors the famous American playwright Tennessee Williams, who loved New Orleans. The program includes a lot of workshops, readings, and other literature-related things. However, the highlight of the festival is its closing "Stella and Stanley Shouting Contest" event, where everyone disturbingly calls Stella as in the renowned movie A Streetcar Named Desire, based on William's playwright.
