Clotxa in Barcelona 2025
An interesting regional farmers' food
Best time: January 17
La clotxa is a traditional dish from the Ribera d'Ebre region. Local farmers prepared it as a kind of lunch box when they had to work in the fields. A loaf of bread is cut in half and stuffed with tomatoes, onions, garlic and salted herrings or grilled sardines. It's possible to try different clotxa varieties if you visit d'Ebre region in Catalonia during the Sant Antoni festivities on January 17.
