Valencia is famous for its sandy beaches, so naturally a lot of visitors flock there during the summer season. For beach-goers, the best time to visit Valencia is in June and September. It will let you take advantage of the best weather and major local festivals and to avoid the most overcrowded period of the summer. A colourful Corpus Christi parade takes place every June. Later in the summer, you can see the spectacular Battle of Flowers, traditional Corrida de Rejones and Corrida de Toros, and dance to the rhythms of Arenal Sound in Burriana! For craziness and crowds join the famously massive tomato fight "La Tomatina" in Buñol in late August. Another peak time in the city is mid-March when Las Fallas celebrations take over Valencia. Those who want to explore the city without tourist crowds should plan come in the off-season from November to February. Your winter trip can be sweetened by turron and oranges.
