This type of corrida involves young bulls and young matadors. It does not constitute an amateur bullfight, but both bulls and matadors are pretty inexperienced. For matadors who have less than three years of experience in the corrida, there are no “picadors” i.e. helpers in the bullring. This corrida is also known as “the poor man’s corrida” because, taking into consideration the lack of skills and experience of both bull and the matador, the tickets for this event are much cheaper.
Novillada is held in the autumn season, in early October at the Plaza de Toros de Valencia (Bullring of Valencia).
