Water rose apples are also called wax apples, malay apples, love apples, etc. They can be found in two colors – light green and dark pink. They have a triangular conical shape, which looks like heart. In Goa you can find them everywhere, just look around. Water rose apples first appeared on the shores of Goa with the Portuguese. When ripe, you can feel a lovely rose scent. The taste is crisp, watery, and slightly sweet. Water rose apples have two harvesting seasons: the first one from May to July, and the second from November to December.
