Although September to November gets busy, it’s deemed to be the best time to visit Oklahoma. It has been said that every season in this South Central state offers a beautiful experience. Fall will swirl you into numerous fun events, such as the Oklahoma State Fair or the Poteau Balloon Fest. And if you are a passionate runner, do not let the Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon escape your attention. Winter in Oklahoma is usually dry and mildly cool, with reasonable hotel rates. You'll find a world of Christmas-light displays all around the state. Although there is a higher chance of tornados from March through May, the weather is often mild and pleasant. This is the perfect time to hike in the Wichita Mountains, where the wildflowers will be blooming. Summer brings on the sweltering Oklahoma heat, but also endless festivals, outdoor activities, and unforgettable 4th of July celebrations.
