Oklahoma Festival of Ballooning 2024

Oklahoma Festival of Ballooning is an annual event that takes place on the last weekend of August at Hatbox Field in Muskogee, Oklahoma. Over 30 balloons rise over Muskogee County, creating a beautiful panorama of the dotted sky.

Festival Highlights

The Oklahoma Festival of Ballooning boasts a wide array of activities, including tethered balloon rides, food trucks, helicopter rides, children's activities, live music, and more. Major highlights include The Balloon Glow and a spectacular fireworks finale on Saturday. The festival also features a Fun Zone with axe throwing and an escape room available for individual or group participation. The kids' area, geared for children aged ten and under, offers inflatables and a giant slide, providing endless fun for the little ones. The Kids Zone is free of charge.

Schedule

The three-day festival operates from 5 pm to 9 pm on Friday and Sunday, and on Saturday, it runs from 7 am to 9 am. Competition flights take place in the mornings on Saturday and Sunday, starting at 7 am. These sunrise flights are open to the public with no parking fee for entry. Please note that all flights are weather-dependent.

Tickets

General admission to the festival is $20 per vehicle. Entry to the concert and midway/vendor area is free. Tethered balloon rides are $20 per person, and riders must be physically able to climb into the basket and stand unassisted. Helicopter rides are available for $40 per person, with flights lasting about eight minutes. Two to three people can go together for a helicopter flight.

Rules & Restrictions

It is recommended that attendees bring blankets and lawn chairs. Pets are not permitted. Inside the event, coolers and outside food and beverages are not permitted. Drones are also prohibited.
