Kingsport Fun Fest has been a favorite summer event for many Tennessee families for over 40 years. The festival runs for nine days every July, featuring over 100 events in 50 locations throughout Kingsport. Live music concerts, hot air balloon rides, car races, heritage, and cultural events, children's activities, and much more make Fun Fest one of the most popular summer events in the area. Kingsport Fun Fest began in 1980 and has been held annually, bringing traditional summer entertainment to the Greater Kingsport community.
The most beloved events of the Kingsport Fun Fest include the trash barrel paint-in, the parade, block parties, Sunset Concert Series, and, of course, the fireworks display. The festivities usually start with Fun Fest Parade, followed by the Downtown Kingsport street party and the Broad Street Boogie concert. There is also a street fair with international foods, the Car Show held at Kingsport—Allandale, and a Motorcycle Show on Main St. in downtown Kingsport. The Chalk Walk competition gathers the best artists in the area who are using sidewalks of Downtown Kingsport to reveal their fantasies. Many activities and competitions are held for children of various ages. That includes road races and the Touch-a-Truck event.
