Everyone in the Central Valley knows that September is a month of hot air balloons. ClovisFest & Hot Air Balloon Fun Fly is an annual festival, which takes place over a weekend late in the month at Clovis Rodeo Grounds in Old Town Clovis. Apart from hot air balloons, this free event offers a street fair and entertainment for the whole family.
The take-offs at the ClovisFest are typically scheduled on Saturday and Sunday mornings, at dawn between 6 and 7 am. So if you want to admire the spectacle, come before sunrise. As a bonus, you'll be treated to some delicious breakfast items as you wait for the festivities, which run from 8 am through 5 pm. Note that balloon rides are not available to the public. However, you can enjoy tethered rides.
ClovisFest is presented by the Clovis Chamber of Commerce and Chukchansi Gold Resort and Casino. So stay tuned for details and the latest announcements on the organizers' official website or Facebook, provided in the External Resources below.
