Everyone in the Central Valley knows that September is a month of hot air balloons. ClovisFest & Hot Air Balloon Fun Fly is an annual festival, which takes place over a weekend late in the month at Clovis Rodeo Grounds in Old Town Clovis. Apart from hot air balloons, this free event offers a street fair and entertainment for the whole family.
ClovisFest & Hot Air Balloon Fun Fly Events and Activities
The take-offs at the ClovisFest are typically scheduled on Saturday and Sunday mornings, at dawn between 6 am and 7 am. It is usual for our balloon pilots to begin inflating around 6:15 am and plan to lift off at dawn, weather permitting. So, if you want to admire the spectacle, come before sunrise. As a bonus, you'll be treated to some delicious breakfast items as you wait for the festivities, which run from 8 am to 5 pm. Note that balloon rides are not available to the public. However, you can enjoy tethered rides. Hot Air Balloon Rides cost $20 per person, tickets are sold on the morning of the event.
More fun is available at the Fresno/Clovis Convention & Visitors Bureau‘s ClovisFest International Village on 4th Street, where attendees can enjoy live performances and family-friendly activities. Attractions include unique craft vendors and various cultural adventures. ClovisFest is presented by the Clovis Chamber of Commerce and Chukchansi Gold Resort and Casino.
Festival Hours and Location
On Saturday and Sunday festival runs from 8 am to 5 pm in Old Town Clovis. Clovis is a city in the Fresno County of California, 6.5 miles (10.5 km) northeast of Downtown Fresno.
Parking
Visitors can find free parking in the surrounding lots and streets. The largest lot is located at the Clovis Rodeo Grounds, on the east side of Clovis Ave between Bullard and 5th Streets.
