The Putrajaya International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta is one of the greatest ways to celebrate the arrival of spring and the start of the ballooning season in Malaysia. The four-day festival is held every March during school holidays. It features over 20 hot air balloons of various special shapes and designs and lots of entertainment for all ages.
The festival was first held at the Millennium Monument (Monumen Alaf Baru), Precinct 2, Putrajaya. Since 2010, it has been attracting thousands of local ballooning enthusiasts as well as foreign visitors from over 70 countries. One of the main highlights of the festival is the annual Night Glow Show held from Friday to Sunday.
Kids love The Putrajaya International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta as much as adults due to unusual-shaped balloons, as well as those shaped like popular characters: elephants, birds, Darth Vader or the Minion. Plenty of food trucks, crafts vendors, athletic competitions, cultural performances, and workshops will keep everyone busy. Live jazz music and special catering are also available for those who will pay for a special pass. A spectacular display of fireworks will end the day full of fun activities!
