Best time: May 3–6, 2024
This traditional Easter specialty in Romania is Haggis, and locals call it "Drob de miel." The dish is made mainly from lamb, usually the lamb stomach is filled with lamb mince and boiled egg. For Christians, it bears strong religious connotations referring to the New Testament, where the sacrifice of lamb resembles the sacrifice of Jesus for the sake of humankind and thus is a symbol of transition from death to life. In some families, the whole Easter menu is based on lamb.
