It was the Royal Calcutta Golf Club, established in 1829 and the oldest golf club outside the British Isles. A little later, the first golf course was opened in Agra.
Nowadays the Agra Golf Club is considered to be one of the most prestigious and one of the most visited courses by locals as well as tourists during the golf holidays in Agra. Golfers can take advantage of playing the game in the city of Taj and even catching a glimpse through the 9 holes. It is well laid out and perfect for a quick game. Though it has a membership, tourists can often play on mornings with caddies and equipment also available for rent. The Agra Golf Club provides a spectacular view of the snow-white Taj Mahal. It opens daily, from dawn to dusk. There are also some golf courses scattered outside of the city worth checking out.
