Vail Oktoberfest 2024 in Colorado
One of the ten greatest Oktoberfest celebrations in the United States, according to USA Today
Dates: September 6–8, 2024 | September 13–15, 2024
Every September, the world-renowned ski resort of Vail hosts a vibrant Bavarian harvest festival. Vail Oktoberfest is held over two weekends in Lionshead Village and Vail Village, with beautiful mountain views on the backdrops and plenty of classic Bavarian fare.
Festival Entertainment
Get ready to hear lots of oom-pah music and live rock music! In addition, there are traditional Bavarian dancers performing German folk dances and teaching the crowds. Plenty of entertainment will also be available, including authentic competitions like keg bowling, bratwurst eating, and full stein lifting. World Keg Bowling Championship in Vail is a fun competition with participants trying to hurl a keg on wheels down the lane at a pyramid of empty kegs.
Another fun event is the Oktoberfest Costume Contest. All visitors who show up in Bavarian or Oktoberfest-related attire have a chance to participate. The winning costumes are determined by crowd response. The winners will take home plenty of prizes!
Food & Beverages
In addition to authentic German beers like Spaten, Oktoberfest visitors can enjoy brats, schnitzel sandwiches, spaetzle, strudels, and pretzels. Weisswurst sausages, dumplings, and melting raclette cheese will be great appetizers for your beer and brew-tasting sessions.
Dates & Location
The first Oktoberfest weekend is set to take place at Lionshead Village on September 6-8, while the second weekend is on September 13-15 in Vail Village. Both venues are located in Vail, approximately one mile (1.6 km) away from each other. Lionshead Village is considered to be a business center of Vail and is home to many restaurants and shops. Vail Village, on the other hand, is a bit bigger than Lionshead and is one of the main attractions of the town.
