Every year, the arrival of fall is marked at Colorado Springs with a massive hot-air balloon ascension. The Colorado Springs Labor Day Lift Off is a highly anticipated event that brings together hot-air balloon enthusiasts, families, and tourists for a weekend of vibrant colors and exciting activities. Set against the stunning backdrop of Memorial Park, this festival offers a unique experience suitable for people of all ages and interests.

What to Expect

As promised by the organizers, the event is packed with a variety of activities. Each day begins with an early morning balloon lift-off, where over 70 hot air balloons ascend into the sky, providing a breathtaking view. In addition to the balloon flights, visitors can enjoy a range of other events, including skydiving demonstrations, drone shows, and remote-controlled balloon displays. The evenings feature a spectacular balloon glow, where the balloons are illuminated against the night sky, creating a magical atmosphere.

Entertainment options are abundant, with live music performances throughout the day. Concerts by bands like Winchester Road and Sofakillers add to the festive ambiance, while aerial acrobats from Aerial Aura captivate audiences with their high-flying acts. A 3-part Hot-Air Balloon Photography Workshop features a virtual lecture, hands-on sessions, and personalized feedback at Mike's Camera. Guests can partake in the enchanting experience of balloon rides offered by Rainbow Ryders. Food vendors offer a variety of cuisines and a beer garden opens early to provide refreshments, making sure visitors are well-fed and entertained.

Colorado Springs offers additional activities, such as the Broadmoor Pikes Peak Cog Railway, Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, Garden of the Gods, and the Echo Canyon River Expeditions.
