It seems like there is a chance to make the dog days of summer brighter with numerous events during Atlanta Labor Day Weekend. So let's go and have some fun at Dragon Con, Celebration at Stone Mountain Park, Marietta Square, Pioneer Days Festival, or Sky High Hot Air Balloon Festival.

Dragon Con (August 29–September 2, 2024)

Dragon Con presents a giant multi-media convention of popular culture that focuses on science fiction & fantasy, comics, gaming, art, literature, film, and music in the universe. Entertainment features gaming, parade, art shows comic and pop artists' alley, and much more. Additionally, many interesting guests will visit the event. Dragon Con is definitely an event you would like to attend during Labor Day Weekend. Admission requires a membership: a 5-Day Membership costs $175, or you can opt for an Eternal Membership for $4,500.

Labor Day Weekend Celebration at Stone Mountain Park (August 31–September 2, 2024)

Enjoy a day of family-centered attractions at Stone Mountain Park, just around 30 min from Atlanta by car. Live through some exceptional live recreation available during Labor Day Weekend only and foretaste Lasershow Spectacular, followed by unforgettable fireworks completing each of three days of celebration. Attractions are open from 10:30 am to 9 pm and Classic Lasershow kicks off at 9:30 pm. A day's worth of family-friendly attractions and seasonal entertainment is included in the attraction tickets, which cost for children and $39.99 + tax for adults.

Art in the Park at Marietta Square (August 31 - September 2, 2024)

Known since 1986, Art in the Park takes place around and in the Glover Park and Marietta Square, 25 min by car from Atlanta, each Labor Day weekend. This signature tradition and event celebrates the arts featuring national and local artists from around the country. Art in the Park is happy to feature a children’s art alley, the famous Painted Pots, and, as a cherry on top, a renowned artist market. Art displays usually include photography, paintings, graphic arts, pottery, sculptures, jewelry, and more from over 175 of the country’s most celebrated artists. There is also a chance for guests to visit unique boutiques, galleries, museums, and restaurants.

Pioneer Days Festival at Sam Smith Park (August 30–September 2, 2024)

The Pioneer Days Festival is a family-oriented event held in Sam Smith Park, Cartersville, 44 miles (71 km) from Atlanta. The occasion features the best selection of rides, game concessions, and food. It also has a lot to offer at food stalls, such as nachos, pizza, corn dogs, cotton candy, funnel cakes, etc.

Sky High Hot Air Balloon Festival at Callaway Gardens (August 30–September 1, 2024)

Say goodbye to the summer with a signature annual event of The Callaway Gardens—The Hot Air Balloon Festival. Witness over 30 balloons taking off in the sky during Labor Day Weekend and try other fun activities in the park. Guests can enjoy K9s in Fight, thedered rides, Ballon Glow, Nightly, and much more fascinating activities. Admission varies from about $14.95 (one-day, children) to $69.95 (three-day, adult pass).

The Atlanta Weekender (August 29 – September 2, 2024)

Atlanta's Soulful & Global dance festival is a great way to spend Labor Day Weekend with a fiery dance atmosphere. The previous line-up featured Ron Trent, Josh Milan, Moodymann, Gwen Bunn, Tony Humphries, Ian Friday, and many more popular artists. The Atlanta Weekender ticket prices range from $85 to $150.

Atlanta Black Theatre Festival (August 30–31, 2024)

The Atlanta Black Theater Festival (ABTF) annually brings together the world's theater producers, writers, artists, and art fans to celebrate creative works for and about the Black experience. The festival is organized to create and expand opportunities for artists of color and to have a platform for promoting their work. During the festival, guests can expect live performances, staged readings, art conferences, a black arts expo & market, a monologue competition, and many more fascinating events. The Festival takes place from August 30, starting at 9 am to August 31, ending at 11:59 pm at the Holiday Inn & Suites Atlanta Airport North and Southwest Art Center.
