LA Fleet Week is a free five-day celebration of America's Sea Services taking place on the LA Waterfront at the Port of Los Angeles during Labor Day Weekend. The main highlights of this annual event are active duty ship tours, tall ship tours during The Festival of Sail, educational, military displays and equipment demonstrations, military aircraft flyovers, and much more.
LA Fleet Week hosts a variety of activities for visiting military personnel and the general public. Runners can participate in the annual Conquer the Bridge Labor Day 5.3-mile (8.5-km) dash over the Vincent Thomas Bridge. There is also a 5 on 5 Basketball Tournament and a tough Obstacle Course to overcome. Don't miss fun culinary cook-off competition between coastguard, marine and sailor teams.
LA Fleet Week runs Thursday to Monday from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. providing non-stop music entertainment, indoor and outdoor exhibits, maritime crafts food trucks and other attractions at downtown Harbor between W. 5th-6th Streets and S. Harbor Blvd.
During the festival, Veterans Village is providing support to veterans and their families. Military Village hosts outdoor displays of antique and contemporary military vehicles and equipment. Educational STEM Expo (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math) attracts middle and high school students with various hands-on activities demonstrating the impact of science and technology on everyday life. First Responders Village is educating about their capabilities in response to disasters and recruiting for current service.
