Defenders of Liberty Airshow is a biennial airshow taking place at Barksdale Air Force Base in Bossier City, northwest Louisiana. The airbase is famous as the home of the B-52 bombers. Defenders of Liberty Airshow, which is held in odd-numbered years, offers free admission to the public. The show is a perfect occasion not just to view military and aerobatic performers, but also to tour the military installation and see historical, military, and civilian aircraft.
Defenders of Liberty Air Show has been held since 1933. Its main highlights usually include the performance of the famous flight demonstration squadron the US Navy Blue Angels and the Red Bull Air Force, an impressive team assembled from the most accomplished and experienced pilots. The aerial lineup includes KC-135, B-1, C-17, AH-64, HH-60, Civil Air Patrol Cessna, Tubreaux Cirrus SR-20, and other amazing planes.
Barksdale Defenders of Liberty Air Show is a spectacular weekend family-friendly experience, featuring top performers and static displays, allowing one to learn much about the United States Armed Forces. The show runs from about 11 am to 4 pm. Parking at sight is free. Food and drinks are available for purchase.
