The air show, which began in 1933, honors the legacy of Barksdale AFB and the service of U.S. Air Force personnel. It provides a weekend of aerial performances and family-friendly activities, attracting aviation enthusiasts and the local community.

2025 Performers

Static displays The Defenders of Liberty Air Show features a variety of aircraft, including the B-52 bomber, F-16, and F-22, and performances by the USAF Thunderbirds. These aerial demonstrations showcase the precision and professionalism of the U.S. Air Force. The event also includes impressive flyovers and displays like the B-1, B-2, and B-52, as well as the "Wall of Fire" and B-52 takeoff demonstrations. Additionally, the U.S. Army Golden Knights, an expert parachute team, adds to the excitement with their skydiving performances.

Entry & Parking

Spectators are advised to use the North and Main Gates to enter the Air Show. Both the North (Bossier) and West (Shreveport) Gates will be open to the public from 9 am to 4 pm each day. Shuttle buses will transport attendees from the parking area to the air show entry point, ensuring convenient access for all visitors. Please note that details regarding entry and parking are subject to change.

Family-Friendly Amenities

Families attending the Barksdale Air Show can enjoy the convenience of a dedicated Baby Care/Nursing Station on-site. This station provides a comfortable space for nursing, diaper changes, and pumping. In addition, the base offers other amenities, such as food vendors and restrooms, ensuring the comfort of all attendees.

Rules & Regulations

For the safety and enjoyment of all attendees, the following rules and regulations will be strictly enforced throughout the air show. Vehicles and individuals may be subject to search at any time. Prohibited items include weapons of any kind, pets (excluding Service Animals), illegal drugs, drones, frisbees, and sporting equipment that can be thrown. Additionally, items such as glass bottles, outside food or drinks, grills, large hand-carried items, and smoking materials are not permitted on the premises. Organizers ask visitors to adhere to these guidelines to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone.
