The Vectren Dayton Air Show is Dayton's favourite summer party that takes place at the Dayton International Airport in Vandalia, Ohio, in just about 12 km (8 mi) north of Dayton, Ohio and some 100 km (65 mi) from Cincinnati. Dayton has a rich aviation heritage, as it was the hometown of the Wright brothers who founded Wright Company back in 1910. Also, the first powered plane was built here. No wonder, Dayton Air Show has become one of the most significant in the country. It attracts about 80,000 attendees.

The show has featured most famous air acrobatic teams like the United States Air Force Thunderbirds, U.S. Navy Blue Angels, U.S. Army Golden Knights, Red Bull Air Force, Sean D. Tucker, Patty Wagstaff along with other fantastic performers, aircraft displays, and entertainment. Unique aircraft like the F-18 Super Hornet, B-2 Spirit, B-52 Stratofortress, A-10 Thunderbolt, P-51 Mustang, C-5 Galaxy, U.S. Navy P-8A Poseidon, U.S. Air Force A-10 Thunderbolt II, U.S. Air Force C-17 Globemaster III, U.S. Air Force KC-10, and others have been presented at the show.

Ground entertainment includes special displays presented by current servicemen and women of the U.S. Armed Forces, souvenir stalls, as well as vendors selling food and beverages. Vectren Kids’ Hangar offers free activities for kids—face painting, giant sandboxes, crafts, a backyard gym, and much more.
