Selfridge Open House and Air Show takes place at Selfridge Air National Guard Base, usually every two or three years in one of the summer months. One of the main headliners of the Selfridge air show is the Air Combat Command F-22 Demonstration Team, promising some of the most impressive aerial performances. Besides, you're going to see such fabled jets as the 127th Wing's KC-135 Stratotanker, the A-10 Thunderbolt II, and warbirds. Apart from the air show, the event also boasts a static ground display, showcasing historic aircraft of World War I.
Selfridge Air National Guard Base sits about 30 miles (50 km) northeast of Detroit and is about a 30-minute drive from it. You can choose from tons of comfy accommodations in or near Motor City. Alternatively, you might opt to stay in Ann Arbor, situated roughly 70 miles (110 km) away from Selfridge Field.
