Rolling To Remember is an annual bike rally taking place in the Washington D.C. area during the Memorial Day weekend. The sounds of roaring Harley Davidson engines fill the streets, as dozens of bikers make their way through the U.S. capital to honor veterans and those who lost their lives for America. Many of the riders are former soldiers, sailors, marines, coast guardsmen, airmen, firefighters, and law enforcement officers.

Rolling to Remember has been a tradition since 1988, when about three thousand riders rolled into Washington, DC, to raise awareness about POW and MIA servicemen and women. The event usually starts on Friday with Blessing of the Bikes, held at the Washington National Cathedral in DC.

The Demonstration Ride occurs on a Sunday before Memorial Day, starting at noon at the Pentagon’s parking lot. The route goes through the central streets: Constitution, Independence, and Pennsylvania Avenues. Before the ride, participants watch a motorcycle drill team performance. The pre-ride rally also features live music, special appearances, and high-profile speakers, taking the stage from 10 am to 12 pm. In the evening, the Candlelight Vigil is held at the Wall of the Vietnam War Memorial.
