Annually Copenhagen hosts a very cute and at the same time bizarre event called the World Santa Claus Congress. This congress is a gathering of Santas Clauses, Saint Nicks, Christmas elves, pixies and Mrs Clasuses from all over the world. Only those "Christmas workers" are allowed to participate who work professionally. There are several rules and restrictions for the participants one of which is that they have to wear their full costume that meets the traditions of their country.
The event takes place at the Bakken amusement park and includes a parade, a Christmas gala and a "Santa Workshop" where the participants share ideas and talk about their work. At the end of the congress, an "Honorary Santa of the year" is chosen. All this sounds just a little weird considering the fact that the event takes place in July.
