History of the Festival

The Hudson Valley Pirate Festival began four years ago, when Cheryl Olsen and a dedicated team of friends and family were inspired by watching numerous pirate movies, including the beloved "Muppet Treasure Island." Their shared love for pirates sparked the idea of a pirate festival. Since then, the festival has grown into an annual event, drawing visitors from across the region with a diverse array of activities and attractions.
