The Great Glebe Garage Sale attracts thousands of people to the neighborhood of Glebe at 175 Third Avenue in Ottawa. Dating back to 1986, the Great Glebe Garage Sale has become a great social event with delicious food and a relaxed atmosphere. It's an excellent place to look for some unique things and collectibles and find cheap furniture or vintage clothes. The sale attracts artists, designers, and musicians from all over Ottawa and beyond. You'll have a chance to walk around indoor and outdoor spaces where vendors sell everything, ranging from antique pieces and plants to baked goods and BBQ delights.
Schedule & Parking
The Great Glebe Garage Sale is held on the fourth Saturday in May from 8 am to 2 pm. Since parking is limited because of numerous large events in the area, it is better to take public transportation or walk. If you do drive, consider parking before entering the neighborhood. Some parking lots include Lansdowne Park, at the corner of Bank Street and Chamberlain Avenue, and at Bank and Third Avenue.
Charity & Sustainability
The Great Glebe Garage Sale also serves a charitable purpose because the vendors are encouraged to give ten percent of their proceeds to the Ottawa Food Bank. Vendors are also advised to place recycling bins near their booths to reduce the environmental impact of the fair.
