The Great Glebe Garage Sale attracts thousands of people to the neighborhood of Glebe's 175 Third Avenue in Ottawa. The festival is a mix of a giant garage sale, recycling event, and spring celebration. People of the Glebe set up tables with items they want to sell on their lawns, porches and driveways.
Inception of The Great Glebe Garage Sale dates back to 1986. It has become a great social event with delicious food and a relaxed atmosphere. It's also an excellent place to look for some unique things and collectibles, find cheap furniture or vintage clothes. The sale attracts artists, designers, and musicians.
The Great Glebe Garage Sale is held on the fourth Saturday in May from 8 am to 3 pm. Since parking is limited, it is better to take public transportation or walk. A part of the money, raised during the event, is donated to the Ottawa Food Bank.
