Ice climbing is a great winter sport, which is getting more and more popular every year. It is a bit more extreme but also showcases amazing views of shining snow peaks, crystals, and ice formations. Bavaria opens its most stunning winter views to the most courageous climbers. Some of the best ice climbing spots are Jochberg in Upper Bavaria and Oberstdorf in the Allgäu region. In Pfronten you can also train on a 15-meter ice tower, which is challenging even for experienced climbers. Even watching others climbing is an exciting experience.
