Krampus serves the role of a devilish companion of Saint Nicholas, punishing children who misbehave throughout the year. Traditionally celebrated on December 5th, the night before the Feast of Saint Nicholas, Krampus parades and Krampusnacht (Krampus Night) festivities can be seen in Germany, Italy, and Austria. However, some US cities, including Denver, throw their own Krampus celebrations, bringing spooky charm to the traditional holiday.
Carnivale De Sensuale: Krampus (December 7, 2024)
Denver's most famous burlesque show, Carnivale De Sensuale puts on a breathtaking holiday performance of Krampus. Through unique costumes, stage makeup, and dramatic burlesque dancing, royalty of the genre conveys the tale of Krampus, the Christmas monster. The event takes place every year in the Oriental Theater, with visitors having a chance to take a picture with the star of the show, Krampus. The event itself begins at 8 pm, but the photo session with Krampus begins at 7-7:30 pm only for VIP ticket holders. General admission costs $25, while VIP tickets cost $35.
Krampus: The Fright Before Christmas (December 13-15, 2024)
To bring Halloween horror to the Christmas season, 13th Floor Haunted House hosts a terrifying attraction, Krampus: The Fright Before Christmas. This haunted house experience features numerous jumpscares, live actors, light effects, and your favorite holiday traditions with a darker twist. If you'd like to catch a breather, Tiki Tarot Experience offers specialty cocktails and Santa’s Secret Shot Spot serves energizing shots. Visitors can also practice their axe throwing at a designated area. Tickets start at $29.99.
