October is one of the busiest months in Denver, featuring hayrides, corn mazes, pumpkin festivals, and costumed events. The city comes alive with Halloween spirit amid beautiful fall foliage and the stunning mountainous landscapes of Colorado's capital. Visitors can choose their favorite activity from an array of events, ensuring an unforgettable experience during this vibrant season.

Wild Fall at Denver Zoo (September 27–October 31, 2024)

Every October, Denver Zoo presents a special program called Wild Fall, which includes family-friendly Halloween activities. The 84-acre zoo features costumed creatures like Bigfoot, Mermaid, and Fairy, pumpkin carvings, animal demonstrations, and kids' favorite fall treats. Tickets are included with regular daytime admission.

In addition to Wild Fall, the popular trick-or-treating event, Boo at the Zoo, returns this season. This timed, ticketed event is designed to reduce crowds while ensuring maximum fun for all. Attendees can enjoy encounters with mysterious cryptid creatures, candy stations, seasonal treats, and plenty of Halloween excitement for children and families alike. With enchanting surprises around every corner, it's the perfect spot for trick-or-treating. The event is scheduled for October 4–5, 11–13, 18–20, and 25–27, from 5 pm to 9 pm. General admission pricing for October 4–5 and 11–13 is $25.20 for adults and $18.90 for youth, with free entry for children two and under. Peak pricing for October 18–20 and 25–27 is $28 for adults and $21 for youth.

Chatfield Farms Corn Maze (September 20–October 27, 2024)

Another excellent family Halloween outing idea is a Corn Maze at Chatfield Farms in Littleton. The fantastic seven-acre maze can be explored on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays in October. It looks especially impressive from one of two 15 ft (4.6 m) tall illuminated bridges. The last entry is at 5 pm. Corn Maze events close at 6 pm.

Glow at the Gardens (October 22–27, 2024)

Denver Botanic Gardens is most spectacular in the after-hours when its luminaria-lined pathways surprise visitors with mystical lighting displays and beautiful glowing pumpkins carved by local artists. These jack-o’-lanterns with grins and grimaces will get you into the Halloween spirit. Additionally, performing artists bring spirits and specters to life during their dynamic shows. The garden offers a variety of activities and entertainment, as well as seasonal food and beverages. The last entry is at 9 pm.

Broadway Halloween Parade (October 19, 2024)

Broadway Halloween Parade is an anticipated Denver annual community event, which is held in the vibrant heart of Broadway in South Denver. The parade, which starts at 6 pm, runs from 5th to Alameda St., featuring spooky floats, marching bands, musicians, and community groups. Kids are welcome to wear their favorite Halloween costumes and do some trick-or-treating.

Denver LoDo Zombie Crawl (October 26, 2024)

Every year, thousands of zombies take over Denver's bustling LoDo, a downtown neighborhood famous for its bar and dining scene. Zombie costumes and makeup are a must during this fun Halloween event. Make sure you download the list of all bars and nightclubs participating in the crawl. Many of them provide free entry and various discounts to Zombie Crawl participants.
