Denver Oktoberfest 2023

A huge Bavarian beer festival in Colorado

Dates: September 16–October 3, 2023

One of the largest and oldest beer festivals in Colorado, Denver Oktoberfest attracts about 350,000 people. Held since 1969, it's considered to be one of the best such events in the US. Denver Oktoberfest takes place in Downtown along Larimer Street, between 20th and 22nd Streets, for two weekends in September.

The biggest highlights of Denver Oktoberfest include stein hoisting, brat eating contests, keg bowling, and, of course, the annual Long Dog Derby, where dachshunds compete in speed. The costume contest and other fun competitions will entertain guests of various ages. The festival's program also includes over 30 bands performing live music, polka dancing, chicken dancing, and sing-alongs. In addition to the array of beers, seltzers and Cutwater cocktails, visitors can indulge in Bavarian classic Oktoberfest food and desserts, like würstl, roasted chicken, brezen, sauerkraut, rotkohl, and apple strudel. There's a Premium Beer Hall and a marketplace with vendors offering arts and crafts.

The entertainment at the festival is free. Oktoberfest wristbands cost $15-$65. VIP Packages include food and drinks in the fenced-off VIP-ONLY section, a ceramic stein, a t-shirt, and a German hat.
