Denver Oktoberfest, one of the largest and oldest beer festivals in Colorado, has been a staple event since 1969, drawing around 350,000 attendees each year. Celebrated as one of the best Oktoberfest events in the US, it takes place in Downtown Denver along Larimer Street, between 20th and 22nd Streets, over two weekends in September.

Festival Highlights

Denver Oktoberfest's biggest highlights include stein hoisting, where male and female champions display their strength for prizes, brat-eating contests, keg bowling, and the annual Long Dog Derby, featuring dachshunds competing for speed. Awards are presented to winners across six different categories. The costume contest and other fun competitions will entertain guests of all ages.

Program

The festival program features various live music, polka dancing, chicken dancing, and sing-alongs. Alongside an extensive selection of beers, seltzers, and Cutwater cocktails, visitors can savor Bavarian Oktoberfest classics like würstl, roasted chicken, brezen, sauerkraut, rotkohl, and apple strudel. The event also boasts a Premium Beer Hall and a marketplace with vendors offering arts and crafts.

Tickets & Hours

Denver Oktoberfest typically starts at 5 pm on Fridays and at 11 am on Saturdays and Sundays, ending at 11 pm each night. This family-friendly and pet-friendly event welcomes attendees of all ages. General admission to the festival is free, but visitors can opt for VIP tickets, which can be purchased on the official website. VIP tickets offer perks like access to a private bar and restroom, a commemorative stein, and more. Attendees are welcome to bring steins from previous years or other Oktoberfest events, though bartenders may provide a cup for accurate beer measurements.
