Every summer, the Great British Beer Festival (GBBF) showcases over 900 real ales and various craft beers like ciders and perries, as well as fine wines and gin. Dozens of bars and breweries are participating in the event. Don't miss the chance to attend tutored tasting sessions to learn more about the brewing process. Being one of the most significant beer events in London, the festival attracts approximately 1.5 million visitors each year. While strolling through the venue, attendees will stumble upon dozens of beer tastings, charcuterie sampling, panels, and expert talks, which give you insight into the process of brewing. The event is accompanied by live music performed by London musicians.
Schedule & Hours
The festival hours differ depending on the day. On Tuesday, both a trade session and a public session are usually held, with trade visitors coming in from 12 pm until 5 pm and the public entering from 5 pm until 10:30 pm. The venue is normally open for festivalgoers from 12 pm until 10:30 pm, Wednesday through Friday. On Saturday, the event typically operates from 12 pm until 7 pm.
Location & Dates
The four-day festival is usually held at Olympia Events, Tuesday through Saturday, giving you plenty of time to explore the festival grounds and enjoy delicious brews. Olympia Events, also known as Olympia London, is a spacious exhibition center in the British capital. It's located in West Kensington, 3 miles (5 km) from Hyde Park and 6 miles (10 km) from the Tower of London. The festival won't be held in 2024, but it's expected to take place in early August 2025.
History of the Festival
The Great British Beer Festival (GBBF) is held by the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA), presenting cask ales and other drinks from the UK. Thousands of volunteers and beer enthusiasts work at the festival. The first beer festival by CAMRA took place in Covent Garden in 1975.
