The Bay Islands (Roatán, Guanaja and Útila) have a subtropical climate, despite the proximity to the continent with its tropical climate.
During the summer (July-August) and winter (October-February) rainy seasons, the Bay Islands experience several downpours per day, beginning and ending abruptly. Luckily, places like Roatan Island can change quickly from rain to bright sunshine. September and early October should be sunnier and drier, so it's a nice time to be in the area.
