The June Fair or Feria Juniana in San Pedro Sula is another occasion to party after La Ceiba Carnival is over. This festival is held during the whole month and most of the events are associated with the festival patron saint of the city—St. Peter the Apostle.
Colourful art exhibits, folk dances, concerts, carnivals, and fireworks give plenty of chances for tourists to get acquainted with the culture and traditions of Honduras. The home football field "Francisco Morazan" hosts exhibitions of art and culture and even laser light shows.
The major highlight of the festival is a big parade down Avenida Circunvalacion with colorful floats, marching bands and many dancers in amazing costumes. The parade ends with a massive street party. Plaza Juniana is the biggest site for the holiday fair with more than 50 stalls with food and beverages and a stage with live music. It operates from June 12 to July 1 from 5 p.m. to 2 a.m. Plaza Típica in the downtown also features many festive events, Honduras cuisine, live music and drinks. Other events of the festival include an Expo, a Fashion Week, and an international marathon that occurs in the city center. There is also a separate horse parade, where locals show off their best four-legged friends, and an agricultural fair taking place on the outskirts of San Pedro Sula. During the festival, San Pedro Sula restaurants and cafes offer visitors delicious traditional dishes and drinks.
