Stark County Fair is the ultimate agricultural festival in Canton, Ohio. The event typically lasts about a week and features a tremendous variety of activities for any taste. Thanks to a fun children’s zone with face painting, arts and crafts, and exciting games for any age, children will also have plenty of entertainment options.

Highlights of the Fair

As for adults, they will also have an opportunity to have the fun week of their lives. The fair offers activities for any taste. For example, watching tractor pull shows, getting some thrills in carnival rides, visiting authentic Ohio rodeos, listening to live music, visiting one of the many agricultural exhibits, playing with animals, witnessing demolition derby, tasting delicious food from local vendors, and much more.

In 2024, horse racing with betting will take place on August 28-29, starting at noon. Truck & Tractor Pulls will take place on August 30-31, starting at 7 pm. Demolition Derby is scheduled for September 1-2, starting at 7:30 pm. Gates open at 6:30 pm.

2024 Lineup

Live music stage will host Night Ranger, an American hard rock band from San Francisco, California, on August 28. Tickets start at $30. On August 29, the public can meet Scotty McCreery, an American country singer and American Idol winner. Ticket prices start at $30.

Tickets and Hours

General admission tickets are $8, and children under five can enter for free. Fair gates open at 8 am each day of the event, closing at 7 pm on Monday and at 9:30 pm Tuesday through Sunday. Remember to book your accommodation beforehand as the city is extremely busy this time of year.

History of the Fair

The history of Stark County Fair dates back to mid-1800s, when most local residents were farmers. In 19th century, Canton was a village with population of about 2,500 residents, who worked on their land. Stark County Agricultural Society Formed appeared in 1850, and the Board of Directors scheduled scheduled a county fair for October 15 and 16 of that year. It attracted farmers representing the county’s 17 townships. The fair took place in downtown Canton, on the Public Square by the courthouse.
