Ice Skating in New York 2024-2025
Visit the iconic ice skating rinks in Central Park or next to the Rockefeller Center
Best time: late October–early April
Even in the winter cold you still can have fun in New York. Grab your skates or rent a pair and head to the Rockefeller Center, Central Park, or Bryant Park. While the first two are fee-based, the third one is free. However, all of them offer some great skating or a hot chocolate while observing the wonderful scenery of the city. Aside from the ordinary skating you can take classes of a figure or synchronized skating and improve your skills. The atmosphere on the rinks is truly magical and romantic. No wonder one of them, the iconic Wollman rink, is even featured in a couple of romantic movies. At night when the city lights turn on the view is even more picturesque. Skating under the starry sky is one of New York's oldest and most beloved winter traditions.
