Winterfest Hartford is the annual event, which features not just free ice skating but also free skate rentals, free learn-to-skate classes, and much more. Held in Bushnell Park in the heart of Downtown Hartford, Winterfest takes place from the day after Thanksgiving through early January. The favorite family tradition for many Connecticut families started in 2010.
In addition to winter fun, the festival provides an opportunity to enjoy various arts, cultural, and dining experiences in historic Hartford. Winterfest hosts many local artists and groups, such as Hartford Steal Drum Symphony, Nightfall, MakerSpace, and more.
The ice rink in t Bushnell Park is visited by approximately 40,000 people every winter. The attraction is open every day from 11 am to 8 pm. Snacks and hot chocolate are available in the park. The Carousel also sells hot chocolate. The rink is closed on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve, and New Year’s Day
