The International Balloon Festival in Luxor in early December is a meeting of more than 80 amateur balloon pilots from different countries of the world who will fly in the sky of the ancient city of Luxor. This flight may be the highlight of your visit to Egypt! You will never forget the tranquillity and beauty of the early morning sun rising over Luxor. Behold the thrilling bird’s-eye views as the sunlight illuminates the temples and mountains below. You see the pillars of Karnak Temple greet the morning sun, admire Queen Hatshepsut’s Temple cast in the glow of dawn, view the Colossi of Memnon rising from the nearby fields, view the Valley of the Queens in the distance nestled in the craggy mountains, and fly over the impressive funerary temple of Pharaoh Ramses II and gaze down at its pylons, statues and courtyards for an unrivaled aerial view of the whole complex.

Evening flights are scheduled with a landing at sunset in the desert, where a Bedouin night will be organised to enjoy the allure of the desert, Bedouin folkloric dances, and grilled Bedouin food. The best times to visit Luxor for air balloon flights is from March to April and between October and December. Flights from May to September are uncomfortable due to unbearably hot temperatures. Be sure to bring a camera!
