Midnight Sun Swimrun 2023 in Finland

Have you ever experienced a midnight swim and run? Come and take part in the annual swim and run competition!

Dates: June 22, 2023 (on hold)

If you are a rather sporty person and want to test your skills, try a swim and run competition at Pallas-Yllästunturi National Park. During summer there is a lot of sunlight during both the day and night. This event consists of lots of running, then diving into the cold Lappish waters, and running and swimming again.

The total distance is 30.4 km. The swimming part is 4.6 km. The race takes about four hours. Luckily you'll be surrounded by an amazing variety of landscape to enjoy. So, just feel free to stop and marvel at the scenery and the silent beauty.

At the end of the long lasting competition, a pleasant and healing Finnish sauna is the best place to relax. You can choose between a long and short race course. Usually, the race starts at 7 pm and lasts till 11 pm. The sauna and the rest celebrations last till 3 am. The next day there is a prize ceremony and banquet.

The swim-run event takes place in the Äkäslompolo village, municipality of Kolari in the Finnish part of Lapland.
